About the role:Rabobank’s Financial Economic Crime Financial Intelligence Unit is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to join our Sydney-based team. Reporting to the Transaction Monitoring Operations Lead (Australia), you will be part of a highly collaborative, high-performing team working in a hybrid environment, combining time in the office with working from home.
In this role, you will play a key part in safeguarding the bank by investigating transaction monitoring alerts & assessing potential suspicious activity. You will ensure all investigations are conducted in line with Rabobank’s internal policies, procedures, & regulatory obligations.
Key Role Responsibilities:Investigating & dispositioning alerts generated by the AML transaction monitoring system, providing clear, accurate & evidence-based rationale for each decisionApplying a risk-based approach to assess customer activity, transaction patterns & relevant ML/TF risk factorsConducting thorough investigations into potentially suspicious transactions & customer activityReviewing relevant customer information, including KYC, expected activity, transaction history, counterparties & source of funds where applicableDocumenting clear, concise & evidence-based analysis outcomesEscalating matters of concern to the Regulatory Reporting team where appropriateAddressing feedback & remediation actions from Quality Assurance & First Line MonitoringSupporting the testing implementation of new transaction monitoring rules & system enhancementsContributing to continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processes & operational efficiency
Skills, experience and attributes you will bring to the role:2 - 4 years’ experience in transaction monitoring within banking / financial services industryStrong critical-thinking skills & understanding of transaction monitoring & suspicious activity investigationsDemonstrated ability to apply a risk-based approach, including assessing customer & transactional risk & determining the appropriate depth of investigationKnowledge of Suspicious Matter Reporting requirementsThe ability to identify red flags from typologiesFamiliarity with relevant banking codes of practice & other legislation including Privacy actExcellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills & a high level of discretionThe ability to manage competing priorities & plan own work effectively & efficientlyExcellent verbal & written communication skillsExperience in RiskShield/ Pega or similar workflow tools used highly regarded
