Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit | Mackay

Troocoo Healthcare is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses – Grade 5 for an exciting rural and regional Queensland contract opportunity within the Intensive Care Unit in Mackay.

This is a great opportunity for experienced ICU nurses looking for their next Queensland placement.

The Opportunity

• Position: Registered Nurse – Grade 5
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Location: Mackay 
• Contract: 07/09/2026 – 01/11/2026
• Hours: Maximum 80 hours per fortnight
• Roster: Rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts
• Rate: $51.28 – $66.30 per hour base
• Roster: As per service requirements

Essential Requirements To be considered, you must have:

• Minimum 3 years' ICU experience
• Current ALS certificate
• Current BLS certificate
• Manual and patient handling competency
• Infection control and hand hygiene knowledge
• Medication management experience
• Ability to meet Queensland Health mandatory training requirements

Desirable Experience Experience with the following will be highly regarded:

• ieMR
• MetaVision
• Previous experience within Australian hospitals
• Previous Queensland Health and/or Mackay HHS experience

Successful candidates must also be willing to complete any required Queensland Health induction, ieMR training, online training and other mandatory education.
