BJJ, MMA and Muay Thai coaches

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic BJJ and/or Muay Thai Coach to join our coaching team.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about martial arts, enjoys working with both children and adults, and wants to become an important part of a growing martial arts academy.

The successful applicant will be involved in coaching a range of classes, including:

• Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

• Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

• Kids Muay Thai

• Adult Muay Thai

• Beginner and fundamentals classes

• Competition training and development

• Assisting with gradings, competitions and academy events

Depending on your qualifications and experience, you may specialise more heavily in BJJ or Muay Thai. Applicants who are experienced in both are highly encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a coach who:

• Has strong experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and/or Muay Thai

• Is confident coaching both children and adults

• Is reliable, professional and punctual

• Has excellent communication skills

• Can create structured, engaging and safe classes

• Can work effectively with beginners through to experienced students

• Has a positive attitude and works well as part of a coaching team

• Is interested in helping students develop their skills, confidence, fitness and discipline

Applicants should ideally hold a Purple Belt or higher, with Brown and Black Belts highly regarded.

Previous coaching experience with kids and adults is preferred.

Applicants should have significant Muay Thai training experience and a strong understanding of technique, pad work, drilling, class structure and safe sparring.

Previous coaching and/or competition experience will be highly regarded.

As this position involves coaching children, the successful applicant will need to hold or be eligible to obtain the appropriate Working with Children clearance (Blue Card).

Current First Aid and CPR qualifications are also highly regarded.

We are an established martial arts academy located in Brisbane.

We offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai and self-defence programs for children, teenagers and adults.

Our academy has a strong focus on creating a welcoming environment where students can develop martial arts skills while improving their confidence, discipline, fitness and overall wellbeing.

Depending on experience and availability, the role may be structured as part-time or full-time, with opportunities for additional coaching hours as the academy continues to grow.

Morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday availability would be advantageous.

Pay will be negotiated based on qualifications, martial arts rank, coaching experience and availability.
