Undergraduate Financial Accountant

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Undergraduate Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for a university student currently studying Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline who is looking to gain practical experience in a corporate environment while completing their studies.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will provide accounting, compliance and administrative support to the Finance team, contributing to financial reporting, internal controls, SOX compliance activities and finance projects that support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting activities
• Prepare reconciliations, financial schedules and supporting documentation
• Support the administration and maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities and internal controls
• Coordinate and maintain audit evidence and documentation for SOX, internal and external audits
• Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
• Assist with finance projects and process improvement initiatives
• Provide general finance and administrative support as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current enrolment in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• A strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism
• A willingness to learn and develop knowledge of financial accounting, internal controls and SOX compliance
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
