Litigation Lawyer 1–2 Years PAE

HFK Lawyers is seeking a motivated and capable Litigation Lawyer with 1–2 years’ post-admission experience (PAE) to join our litigation team in Sydney.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is looking to build a strong foundation in litigation, work closely with experienced practitioners and take on increasing responsibility in a supportive and professional environment.

The Role

Working as part of HFK’s litigation team, you will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of disputes and litigation matters, including:

• Commercial and contractual disputes;

• Building and construction disputes;

• Insolvency and corporate recovery matters;

• Defamation matters;

• Court and tribunal proceedings; and

• Alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and negotiations.

You will be involved in matters from an early stage through to resolution, with exposure to legal research, drafting pleadings and correspondence, interlocutory applications, evidence, negotiations, mediations and court proceedings.

About You

We are looking for a lawyer who:

• Has 1–2 years’ post-admission experience in litigation or a related practice area;

• Has a genuine interest in dispute resolution and litigation;

• Has strong legal research, analytical and drafting skills;

• Is commercially minded and attentive to detail;

• Can manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines;

• Communicates confidently and professionally with clients and colleagues;

• Is proactive, reliable and willing to take ownership of their work; and

• Is keen to learn and develop their litigation skills within an experienced team.

Previous experience in commercial litigation, construction, insolvency or contractual disputes will be highly regarded, but we are also interested in hearing from lawyers with broader litigation experience who are looking to develop their practice.
