Position Summary

We're growing our Finance team and looking for a Management Accountant to take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting as Okendo continues to scale. Reporting to Pippa Strong, you'll be the analytical backbone behind how we plan, measure, and improve financial performance — turning numbers into insights that guide real decisions across the business.

You'll partner closely with leadership on budgets, rolling forecasts, cost and pricing analysis, and valuation work, while also helping strengthen the financial systems and controls that support our growth. This is a full-time position based in Australia, with a salary of AUD $100,000–$130,000 per annum (commensurate with experience).

How you'll create impact:

Budgeting & forecasting: You'll lead the annual budget process and rolling forecast cycles, working with department leaders to build realistic plans and keep them current as the business evolves. You'll formulate and refine our budgetary and accounting policies as we grow, and produce long-range profit and cash flow forecasts that inform how leadership allocates resources.

Financial reporting & performance analysis: You'll prepare accurate, timely financial reports and management accounts for leadership, translating income statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis into a clear view of business performance. You'll provide assurance that our financial reporting is accurate and compliant with relevant statutory and accounting standards.

Cost management & pricing: You'll examine operating costs and review income and expenditure across the business, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. You'll conduct pricing and sensitivity analysis to support commercial decisions, and benchmark our financial performance against industry standards.

Financial modelling & business partnering: You'll build and maintain financial models supporting valuation, capital investment appraisal, and expansion decisions, and appraise the cash flow and financial risk of proposed projects. You'll act as a trusted finance partner to non-finance stakeholders, explaining the story behind the numbers.

Systems, controls & compliance: You'll help introduce and maintain accounting systems and internal controls, ensuring our financial processes scale cleanly as Okendo grows, and support the maintenance of accurate financial records and reporting compliance.

What we need from you:

• 4+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, management accounting, or corporate finance

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)

• Demonstrated experience owning budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis for a multi-entity or international business

• Strong financial modelling skills, with experience in valuation, capital investment appraisal, and pricing/sensitivity analysis

• Excellent communication skills — comfortable presenting financial insights to non-finance stakeholders and senior leadership

• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning deliverables independently in a fast-paced, remote-first environment

• Comfortable working across Xero (accounting), Excel/Google Sheets (modelling), Domo (reporting), HubSpot (CRM/revenue data), Rippling (payroll), and Brex (expenses & budgeting) — or equivalent tools, with the ability to pick up new systems quickly

• Nice to have: experience in a high-growth SaaS or eCommerce business, and exposure to M&A or project finance

1-Month Success

• Completed onboarding and is fluent in Okendo's chart of accounts, finance systems, and reporting cadence

• Has met with key stakeholders across Finance, leadership, and other departments to understand how budgets and forecasts are used day-to-day

• Established a regular 1:1 rhythm with Pippa Strong, with a clear roadmap of priorities for the first 90 days

• Taken ownership of at least one existing monthly reporting or reconciliation task

6-Month Success

• Independently owns the full budgeting and rolling forecast cycle, including variance analysis and cost review, across Okendo's international entities

• Delivered at least one improvement to financial reporting templates, models, or processes that increases accuracy or saves time

• Contributed a pricing, cost efficiency, or valuation analysis that directly informed a business decision

• Is a go-to finance partner for at least one other department

1-Year Success

• Has driven a meaningful improvement to Okendo's FP&A processes, systems, or controls as the business has scaled

• Delivered a significant financial model, valuation, or business case (e.g. supporting an expansion, investment, or efficiency initiative) that shaped a strategic decision

• Is recognised across the business as a trusted financial advisor, with strong working relationships across departments

• Has a clear development path toward greater ownership within the Finance & Accounting team as Okendo continues to grow
