We are a fast-paced team focused on rapid prototyping and deployment of critical sensing capabilities for the new space economy and addressing the challenge of climate change. Join us to take ownership of complex business systems and contribute directly to the development of Australia's space industry.The RoleLocation: On-site, Eveleigh, SydneyDuration: Flexible, to suit student availability and course/placement requirementsPlease note this is an unpaid internship, structured as a vocational placement in line with your institution's course requirements.Key Responsibilities:Support the software engineering team to improve and develop new algorithms;Review background literature and test previously developed algorithms;Documentation and engineering report writing supportRequirements:Be currently studying a 4-year engineering degree (or have a strong mathematical background)Have strong software development skillsHave full working rights in Australia, with citizenship in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, South Korea, or another European countryDesired:Experience with Python and other relevant software development toolsStrong written communication skills, with an interest in technical documentationGood problem-solving skills and attention to detailKey learning opportunities:Direct mentorship from senior engineers on real-world software engineering problemsExperience developing and supporting software applications in a live production environmentOpportunity to interact with stakeholders to investigate issues and understand requirementsExperience writing technical documentation to a professional/industry standardOpportunity to present technical work to internal and external stakeholdersExposure to the operational realities of a fast-moving space startup
