The Centre for Digestive Diseases (CDD) is seeking a professional, compassionate, and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our friendly administration team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of one of Australia's leading specialist gastroenterology centres, working alongside highly regarded specialists in a modern private day hospital and medical practice.

The Centre for Digestive Diseases (CDD) is a private day procedure hospital and specialist medical practice located in Five Dock.
We are internationally recognised for our innovative research, advanced technology and pioneering treatments in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal conditions. Our reputation has been built on clinical excellence, exceptional patient care and a collaborative team culture.
About the Role
As one of the first points of contact for our patients, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming, professional, and caring experience from the moment they contact or visit our practice.
This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) working Monday to Friday. Our operating hours are 6:30am to 6:00pm, with rostered shifts across these hours and occasional overtime when required.
Salary is paid in accordance with the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, with remuneration based on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
Answering a high volume of telephone enquiries and scheduling appointments
Providing accurate information and exceptional customer service
Preparing patient admission and discharge documentation
Managing patient records and medical data entry
Processing Medicare, Private Health Fund and patient payments
Completing daily EFTPOS, credit card and cash reconciliations
Liaising with specialists, GPs, hospitals, insurers, government agencies and health funds
Managing email correspondence, filing and general administrative duties
Ensuring patient confidentiality and maintaining accurate records
Supporting the administration team to deliver an efficient and seamless patient experience
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, remains calm under pressure and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist within a medical practice or specialist clinic
Excellent customer service and communication skills
A professional, friendly and compassionate approach to patient care
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Knowledge of Medicare, Private Health Funds and medical terminology
Experience using medical practice software (experience with CCOS will be highly regarded)
Accurate typing and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a busy environment
Strong organisational and time management skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to work both independently and within a team
A high level of integrity with a commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality
