Customer Growth Specialist

Shred-X is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Customer Growth Specialist to help drive new business and grow existing customer relationships.

This office-based outbound sales role is ideal for someone who enjoys starting conversations, uncovering customer needs and turning opportunities into long-term relationships. You'll proactively identify prospective customers, cross-sell additional services to existing customers and recommend practical Shred-X solutions across our secure destruction, recycling and resource recovery services.

What you'll do

• Generate new business opportunities through proactive outbound calling and prospecting.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing customer accounts to grow customer spend and strengthen relationships.
• Contact prospective and existing customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable Shred-X services.
• Qualify opportunities and manage them from initial conversation through quotation, acceptance and customer onboarding.
• Deliver a professional, responsive and positive customer experience at every stage of the sales process.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, including customer interactions, opportunity details, next steps and pipeline status.
• Meet activity, conversion and revenue targets through consistent prospecting, follow-up and opportunity management.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover and onboarding experience for new customers.
• Participate in sales meetings, coaching and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring

• Experience in outbound sales, telesales, business development, customer acquisition or a similar customer-facing role.
• Confidence initiating outbound telephone conversations and building rapport quickly.
• Strong questioning, listening and qualification skills, with the ability to identify genuine customer needs.
• The ability to communicate service benefits clearly, professionally and persuasively.
• Experience working to activity, conversion and revenue targets.
• Strong organisational, follow-up and time-management skills.
• Experience using a CRM or customer-management system, with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
• The ability to work effectively in a structured, office-based and target-driven sales environment.
• A proactive, resilient and accountable approach to achieving results.
