Motel Management Couple

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, committed and hands-on Motel Management Couple to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a well-presented 22-room motel located along Victoria's Great Ocean Road. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated couple to take ownership of the role, lead a small team and create a welcoming experience for guests while contributing to the ongoing performance and success of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversight and involvement in the daily operation of the motel, including reception, housekeeping, maintenance and general property presentation.

• Take ownership of the management role, ensuring the property operates efficiently and to a consistently high standard.

• Lead, recruit and support a small team, including staff training, rostering and workforce management.

• Provide a consistently high level of guest service, with a focus on positive reviews, repeat visitation and overall guest satisfaction.

• Manage reservations and bookings efficiently, with a focus on occupancy, yield and revenue opportunities.

• Develop relationships with local businesses, contractors and community organisations to help grow direct bookings and local trade.

• Maintain the motel and surrounding grounds to a high standard, including guest rooms, gardens, lawns, cleanliness, presentation, maintenance and safety.

• Monitor the property's performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, guest experience and profitability.

• Maintain regular communication and reporting with the owners, providing updates on operational matters, staffing, maintenance, guest feedback, performance and any issues requiring attention.

• Be available on an on-call basis for genuine emergencies and occasional late check-ins, ensuring guests receive appropriate assistance outside normal reception hours.

About you

• Previous experience in hospitality, accommodation, property management or a similar operational role.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• The ability to work independently and take ownership of the role and its responsibilities.

• A practical, hands-on approach to property presentation and maintenance.

• Experience leading or working within a small team.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• A genuine commitment to creating a positive guest experience.

• The ability to work as a team and share responsibility for the successful operation of the motel.

• Flexibility and reliability to assist with emergency situations and late guest arrivals when required.

• Competitive Salary Package: $100,000 – $110,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
