About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Technology leads a small team and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery, management and improvement of Screen Australia’s technology ecosystem, including physical infrastructure and hardware, systems, core applications, cyber-security and adoption of Artificial Intelligence.
The Head of Technology plays a critical role in shaping Screen Australia’s technology strategy, driving innovation and ensuring the effective management of IT resources. This role requires strategic vision, people leadership and technical expertise, with a pragmatic approach to working.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the development and delivery of Screen Australia’s technology modernisation roadmap, driving the optimisation and integration of technology platforms to support organisational goals and future growth.
Oversee and maintain Screen Australia’s technology infrastructure.
Drive best-practice information governance, cybersecurity and risk management initiatives to safeguard organisational data, systems and digital assets.
Manage the procurement, implementation and ongoing optimisation of enterprise technology solutions.
Develop and execute Screen Australia’s digital and data strategy, enhancing business intelligence, reporting and data integration capabilities through platforms such as the Data Hub and Power BI.
Champion technology adoption across the organisation by delivering effective communication, training and change management initiatives.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of technology projects, including business requirements gathering, planning, stakeholder engagement, governance reporting, risk management and communications.
Build, lead and develop a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and exceptional service delivery.
About you
You'll have demonstrated experience in:
Leading technology operations, cloud migration initiatives and technology modernisation programs within complex organisational environments.
Applying project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile or similar approaches to successfully deliver strategic technology initiatives.
Systems design, enterprise architecture, data management, business intelligence and reporting solutions, and the delivery of impactful digital products and services.
Implementing cybersecurity controls, risk management frameworks, governance processes and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.
Managing technology vendors, procurement processes and commercial contracts to deliver value and optimise service outcomes.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Delivering enterprise-wide technology projects on time, within budget and aligned to business objectives.
The following criteria are desirable, but not essential:
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Digital Technologies or a related discipline.
Formal project management certification such as PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent.
Knowledge of, or experience working within, Australian Government technology, cybersecurity and information management frameworks.
