Qualified Baker

Penny for Pound has been baking since 2016, supplying pastries and baked goods to some of Melbournes best cafes as well as our own retail stores.

As a Qualified Baker you will be working with our production team in our purpose built bakery. Large windows offer natural sunlight and views into our 130 seat cafe. You will be working with modern state of the art equipment and a friendly and professional team.

You will be responsible for assisting the team with meeting all needs of the bakery section, including but not limited to:

• Accurately weighing and mixing assorted doughs
• Following recipes and SOPs
• Completing production in a timely manner
• Proving, scoring and baking bread loaves to a high standard
• Hand shaping/moulding sourdough loaves, baguettes, pretzels etc
• Safely and efficiently operate all bakery equipment to maximise efficiency and quality of product
• Meeting production forecasts
• Ensuring both quality and consistency of product being produced

About you:

• You are a highly motivated individual, looking to grow both personally and professionally
• Have experience mixing sough dough bread and strong attention to detail
• Have attention to detail, a can-do attitude, and a customer-focused mindset
• Capable of working alone and as part of a team
• Capable of communicating, giving and receiving feedback
• Must be able to work some weekends and available to work Public Holidays. We are a 24/7 365 Day Business
• Minimum 1 years experience in another sourdough bakery
• Prior experience in mixing section will be highly regarded
• Desire to develop professionally
