The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administration Officer to support our Day Surgery team in short term 3-month capacity. In this frontline role, you will be responsible for supporting daily clinic operations, managing appointments, and providing an exceptional experience for patients, doctors, and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working in a role that combines administration, coordination, and patient service.

In this role, you will:

• Provide friendly and professional reception services, including greeting patients and managing incoming enquiries.
• Schedule and manage patient and surgeon appointments in accordance with day surgery protocols.
• Accurately maintain patient records and documentation.
• Preparation for theatre lists.
• Coordinate communication between patients, doctors, and clinical staff.
• Support billing and invoicing processes with attention to detail.
• Assist in general administrative duties that support the smooth running of the clinic.

Established for ophthalmic procedures, our day surgery in Melbourne is staffed by highly experienced, specialised ophthalmic theatre teams led by an on-site Director of Nursing. Boroondara Day Surgery is the ideal solution for solo practices seeking a conveniently located specialist ophthalmic centre. Our facility is part of Vision Hospital Group's network of day surgeries in Victoria, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism.

About you

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and organised team player with a warm, customer-first approach.

You will also bring:

• Previous experience in a medical or health-related administration role (preferred).
• Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with patient management systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain professionalism in a busy setting.
• A team mindset and commitment to upholding patient privacy and clinic standards.
