Mantra on Hay is looking for friendly, professional and service-focused Hotel Receptionists to join our Front Office team.
As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming experience from arrival through to departure. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced hotel environment and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Hotel Receptionist, your key responsibilities will include:
• Welcoming guests and providing a professional, friendly check-in and check-out experience• Managing guest reservations, room allocations, payments and account enquiries• Responding promptly and professionally to telephone calls, emails and in-person enquiries• Assisting guests with information about hotel facilities, local attractions, transport and services• Handling guest requests, feedback and concerns with care, efficiency and discretion• Liaising closely with Housekeeping, Maintenance and Reservations to ensure smooth daily hotel operations• Maintaining accurate guest profiles, reservation details, payment records and shift documentation• Completing daily cashiering, banking and shift reconciliation duties• Monitoring hotel security and following established safety and emergency procedures• Supporting the Front Office team with administrative duties and operational requirements• Promoting hotel facilities and services while identifying opportunities to enhance the guest experience
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
• A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service• Strong verbal and written communication skills• A professional presentation and positive attitude• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills• The ability to remain calm, confident and solutions-focused under pressure• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team• Confidence in handling guest payments, cash and confidential information• Good computer skills and the ability to learn hotel systems quickly• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays• Full Australian working rights
Previous experience in hotel reception, reservations or customer service is highly regarded. Experience using Opera Cloud or a similar property management system would be an advantage.
