About the role
The Primary Prevention MYP Grant program is a domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) primary prevention program based in Coffs Harbour, delivered by the NSW Multicultural Centre for Women’s and Family Safety (the Adira Centre). The Centre promotes culturally appropriate, evidence-based and community informed responses to domestic, family and sexual violence.
The Primary Prevention Program (PPP) will work collaboratively with communities to develop culturally responsive strategies that challenge the immense stigma related to domestic, family and sexual violence against women.
Reporting to the PPP Coordinator, the role of community facilitator focuses on engaging community members in decision-making processes, facilitating dialogue, and promoting collaboration among women and men who are ready to explore culturally responsive strategies that prevent violence.
The program is centred around the safety and wellbeing of community members and implements best practice risk and safety planning.
We are looking for someone who has strong focus on building strong relationships, fostering collaboration, and engaging communities to address local needs and prevent violence. In this role you will be responsible for facilitating communication, organising consultations, empowering community members to explore culturally responsive strategies, supporting project implementation, monitoring progress, and advocating for community interests.
Please reach out to us for the full Position Description to review the Key Responsibilities and Measures of success.
