About the role
Smart Urban Properties Australia (SUPA)
is Australia’s first converged services provider, delivering a smarter property experience by integrating renewables, EV mobility, superfast fibre and smart building technology.
SUPA specialises in multi occupancy properties across a range of sectors, including build to sell, build to rent, affordable and community housing and strata communities.
Our purpose is to create inspiring buildings and improve the lifestyles of the communities we serve. By delivering elevated occupier experiences and offering a unique managed service proposition, we make smarter, safer and more sustainable urban properties a reality.
Behind that experience is our energy and telecommunications infrastructure, deployed within embedded networks and multi dwelling developments. This includes embedded electricity networks, hot water plant, solar, EV charging infrastructure and Layer 2 wholesale fibre to the premises networks.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Projects division, where you will manage the delivery of energy and network infrastructure projects from start to finish across embedded networks and multi dwelling developments.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager (VIC/SA), you will be the primary point of contact for developers, builders and suppliers throughout the construction lifecycle. You will ensure project scope is delivered against a wide range of commercial, contractual, technical and regulatory considerations, while maintaining strict adherence to SUPA’s standard delivery processes and methodology.
This role will suit someone with a technical foundation who is ready to take their next career step into technical project management. You will bring strong problem solving and lateral thinking and be comfortable operating autonomously to deliver high level outcomes.
What does a day in the life look like?
Managing the delivery of assigned projects from start to finish across SUPA’s Energy and Networks portfolios, including the deployment of electricity metering, hot water plant, solar, EV chargers and fibre to the premises
Tracking project procurement against budgets, and managing and documenting scope and budget variations in line with SUPA’s variation policies
Interpreting technical documentation such as single line diagrams, network diagrams and shop drawings to inform the design and engineering process
Conducting site inspections and on site WHS auditing of installation contractors to ensure assets and infrastructure are installed in line with designs and quality frameworks
Ensuring project delivery complies with relevant regulatory frameworks and that required regulatory registrations are submitted within required timeframes
Acting as the single point of contact for developers, builders and trades, leading implementation meetings and aligning stakeholders on roles and responsibilities
Providing regular project status reporting through our Project Management system to give visibility of timelines, risks and issues
What you need to be successful in this role?
You might have previous experience in a project coordinator, project officer or similar project delivery role, and you are ready to step up into technical project management within a business that focuses primarily on sustainable energy and connected property.
The key skills you will need in order to be successful in this position are listed below:
Prior experience in a project coordinator, project officer or similar project delivery role
A technical foundation in a relevant field
A project methodology mindset, with the ability to plan, run and track project timelines
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to lead meetings and navigate challenging conversations
Initiative and strong problem solving ability, with an aptitude for lateral thinking and driving solutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
A current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Exposure to the energy or telecommunications sector is advantageous
A tertiary or technical qualification in a relevant discipline is preferred, along with a project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMI
While we have listed out what is needed to be successful, we also welcome applications from people that feel they have other transferable experience they could bring to the role!
Please note that we aren’t able to support visa sponsorship requirements at this stage, so all candidates must have full rights to work in Australia.
What we offer?
At SUPA you get flexibility and benefits that genuinely support your life outside of work, including hybrid working, extra Cultural Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave and the option to purchase additional leave. We have generous parental leave arrangements; primary carer leave and flexible work options when life changes.
On top of this we spend our office days together in a modern South Melbourne space with regular social events, free gym access and novated leasing options.
The Recruitment Process
We aim to keep our recruitment process clear, respectful and as straightforward as possible. The steps below outline what you can expect, noting that each stage is assessed competitively and not all candidates will progress through every step.
Application:
Submit your CV and respond to a short set of application questions. A cover letter is not required.
Initial conversation:
If your application is shortlisted, we will invite you to a phone or video chat with a member of our HR team to talk through your experience and interest in the role.

You may then be invited to meet with the hiring team for a more in depth conversation about the role and how your skills and experience might fit the bill.
Final interview:
For some roles, a final conversation may be held before a decision is made.
