Commercial Lawyer | 7-Month Contract | 3 Days Per WeekElevate is partnering with a leading global technology-enabled ecommerce business seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join its legal team on a 7-month parental leave contract, working 3 days per week. This is a Sydney-based role.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys collaborating with operational stakeholders and advising on a broad range of commercial, regulatory and compliance matters within a fast-paced environment.The successful candidate will support business teams across multiple operational functions, providing pragmatic legal advice and helping navigate evolving regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.Provide day-to-day legal support to business and operational stakeholders.Advise on commercial, regulatory and compliance matters impacting business operations.Support the development and implementation of new programs, products and initiatives.Assist with contractual frameworks, risk allocation and liability management.Review customer, supplier and service provider terms and conditions.Advise on regulatory developments and support compliance initiatives.Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including operations, compliance, risk and business leadership.Deliver practical, solutions-focused legal advice in a dynamic commercial environment.
Required ExperienceAdmitted to practice in Australia with 5+ years' post-admission experience.Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.Demonstrated regulatory and compliance advisory experience.Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.Ability to translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.Experience advising business or operational teams on day-to-day legal matters.Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable working autonomously.Australian legal experience with a sound understanding of Australian regulatory frameworks.Availability to commence at short notice.
