About the role

Enable Living Supports is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Lara, VIC. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with aged and disability support needs. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential care and support services to individuals, helping them maintain independence, dignity and quality of life. This role is fundamental to our mission of enabling people to live fulfilling lives within their communities.

Key responsibilities

1. Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility support

2. Support clients with medication reminders and health management as directed

3. Assist with household tasks including meal preparation, shopping and light cleaning

4. Provide emotional support and companionship to clients

5. Encourage and support clients to participate in community activities and social engagement

6. Maintain detailed and accurate records of support provided and any observations regarding client wellbeing

7. Communicate effectively with clients, their families and the broader support team

8. Uphold health and safety standards and follow all organizational policies and procedures

9. Respect client confidentiality and dignity at all times

10. Report any concerns or changes in client needs to your supervisor promptly

What we're looking for

1. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people and improving their quality of life

2. Experience in aged care, disability support or similar care settings (desirable but not essential for candidates with relevant transferable skills)

3. Current or willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance

4. First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain this within an agreed timeframe

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

6. Physical capability to perform manual handling and provide physical assistance safely

7. Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy

9. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to individual client needs

10. A current driver's license is advantageous, as this role may involve travel between client locations
