About the role
Help In Support is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring aged and disability support services. Based in Melton VIC 3337, you will provide essential support to vulnerable members of our community, helping them maintain independence, dignity and quality of life. As a casual Support Worker, you will have flexibility in your schedule whilst contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality care and support services.
Key responsibilities
Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and meal preparation
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, building trusting relationships
Support clients with mobility and transferring, using appropriate manual handling techniques
Maintain accurate records of client care and support provided
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the broader care team
Follow care plans and support documentation to ensure individualised, person-centred care
Assist with household tasks and maintaining a safe, clean living environment
Identify and report any changes in client wellbeing or concerns to supervisors
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries at all times
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance support delivery
What we're looking for
Current or willingness to obtain a valid Working with Children Check and/or Working with Vulnerable People clearance
Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Aged Care, or equivalent qualification (or willingness to obtain)
Demonstrated experience working in aged care, disability support or community services
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen and respond with empathy
Physical capability to assist clients with personal care and mobility requirements
Reliable, responsible attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Understanding of and commitment to duty of care, privacy and confidentiality principles
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and show respect for client dignity and autonomy
Flexibility and adaptability to work in a casual capacity with varying shift patterns
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client locations (desirable)
