Support Worker, Complex Needs

About the role

Ameya Care Support Services' is seeking an experienced Support Worker to join our team in Atherton, QLD. As a Support Worker, Complex Needs, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to our clients with complex needs. This is a casual position, offering flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting clients with their daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

• Providing individualised support and implementing care plans to meet the unique needs of each client

• Engaging clients in meaningful activities and outings to promote their well-being and independence

• Monitoring clients' progress and reporting any changes or concerns to the care team

• Maintaining accurate client records and documentation

• Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure a cohesive, person-centred approach

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in providing support and care to individuals with complex needs, such as physical or intellectual disabilities, mental health conditions, or dementia

• A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build trusting relationships with clients and their families which are cemented with unsurpassed report-writing and documentation

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to adapt to the unique needs of each client with the confidence in using crisis communication and de-escalation strategies

• A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification

• A willingness to accept guidance, mentoring, and feedback to ensure safety and best practice in the workplace
