About the Role

The position of Printing Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating sheetfed litho offset printing presses.

• Setting up and operating sheetfed lithographic offset printing presses.

• Preparing and setting plates, blankets and impression cylinders.

• Setting ink profiles and achieving accurate colour to approved standards.

• Monitoring colour, registration and print quality throughout production runs.

• Ensuring finished work complies with customer specifications and quality requirements.

• Identifying and resolving printing and production issues.

• Minimising waste whilst maximising press productivity and efficiency.

• Completing scheduled press maintenance and assisting in maintaining equipment in excellent operating condition.

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the printing department.

• Working closely with other printers, assistants and production teams to achieve daily production requirements.

• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and good manufacturing practices.

The ideal applicant will possess the following:

• Trade experience and certification in the print/packaging industry.

• High attention to detail with the ability to think proactively.

• Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels.

• Respect for the safety and wellbeing of oneself and others.

This Position is fulltime 38hrs/ week, with the potential to earn shift loading.
