The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major digital transformation program within the Superannuation business. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a new Superannuation website built on Angular technology, alongside the development and launch of native mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record delivering large-scale customer-facing digital platforms, managing complex stakeholder environments, and driving business outcomes through modern technology solutions. Experience managing mobile application releases through Apple App Store and Google Play Store approval processes is highly desirable.

In addition, the role will lead the delivery of workflow automation initiatives, improving operational efficiency, customer experience, and business processes across the organisation.

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for ensuring outcomes are delivered within agreed scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk parameters while maintaining strong alignment to strategic priorities, business outcomes, and OKRs.

Description of Division and Business Unit

The Technology division – Superannuation, Investments, Customer, Enterprise and Service Operations (SICESO) is responsible for delivering and operating AMP’s core technology platforms supporting superannuation and investments. The division enables secure, scalable and customer-centric technology solutions, driving digital transformation and aligning delivery to AMP’s strategic, regulatory and operational priorities.

About the Role

• Lead end-to-end delivery of medium to large initiatives across business, technology and vendor teams.
• Deliver a major digital transformation program including: 
  • A new Angular-based Superannuation website.
  • iOS and Android mobile applications.
  • Workflow and business process automation initiatives.
• Establish clear delivery plans, milestones, governance, controls and reporting frameworks.
• Ensure project plans, milestones and trade-off decisions remain aligned to agreed business OKRs and strategic priorities.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues, dependencies and benefits realization.
• Drive delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams including website development, mobile application development, integrations, testing, security, compliance and business readiness.
• Build strong stakeholder confidence through proactive communication, escalation and decision support.
• Lead matrixed teams and vendors to maintain delivery momentum and resolve blockers.
• Apply Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methods as appropriate.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architecture, Engineering, UX/UI, Security and Business stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Manage end-to-end mobile application release cycles, including readiness activities, App Store and Google Play Store submission, compliance requirements and production deployment.
• Drive delivery of workflow automation solutions to streamline business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure implementation, business readiness and transition activities are planned and managed to support successful adoption and operational stability.
• Deliver effective communications tailored for audiences ranging from project teams through to senior executives.
• Manage vendor relationships, including delivery performance, commercial commitments, resource planning, risk management and issue resolution.

About You

• 10+ years’ experience managing complex business and technology projects, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Proven experience delivering large-scale digital platforms, customer-facing websites and mobile applications.
• Demonstrated experience managing project budgets ranging from $3M to $10M+.
• Strong experience leading end-to-end program and project delivery using matrixed and distributed teams of up to 40+ resources.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams across business, technology and external vendor teams.
• Proven track record delivering Angular-based web platforms and mobile applications across iOS and Android ecosystems.
• Experience managing Apple App Store and Google Play Store release processes, approvals, compliance requirements and production deployments.
• Hands-on experience delivering workflow automation, process transformation or digital operations initiatives.
• Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Experience working with cloud-based digital platforms, APIs, integrations and modern application development practices.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, SAFe or equivalent highly desirable.

Job Specific Capabilities Required

• Proven ability to lead complex digital transformation programs involving websites, mobile applications, workflow automation and enterprise integrations.
• Demonstrated experience delivering Angular web applications, customer portals and digital self-service platforms.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) across web, mobile and workflow automation solutions.
• Experience overseeing the delivery and successful launch of iOS and Android applications, including management of App Store and Google Play Store release activities.
• Strong governance, planning and delivery control disciplines including management of RAID, dependencies, milestones, financials and executive reporting.
• Ability to lead matrixed teams, vendors and stakeholders to maintain delivery momentum and resolve blockers.
• Strong executive communication skills including status reporting, risk escalation and decision framing.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasts, vendor costs and benefits realization.
• Ability to create a motivating delivery environment, fostering ownership, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Experience defining, tracking and communicating benefits realization to ensure measurable business outcomes.
• Strong understanding of digital customer experience, accessibility, security and regulatory obligations within the financial services sector.
• Experience delivering workflow automation solutions using enterprise platforms and process orchestration technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, supporting delivery planning, backlog management, dependency tracking, traceability and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in complex delivery environments, navigating ambiguity while maintaining focus on outcomes.

Highly Desirable

• Experience within Superannuation, Wealth Management, Investments or Financial Services.
• Experience delivering customer-facing digital transformation programs with web and mobile channels.
• Knowledge of digital onboarding, customer portals, member services and workflow automation platforms.
• Experience working with distributed delivery teams and third-party technology vendors.
• Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and modern cloud-based delivery practices.
