Site Supervisor / Lead Carpenter

About the role

LA Build are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor and Carpenter to join our team in the construction of new homes, roof replacements, structures, renovations, and maintenance works, for remote and urban building sites across the Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver construction projects in accordance with approved specifications and timeframes, ensuring high standards are maintained and delivered in a timely manner

• Supervise and guide the on-site activities and personnel ensuring adherence and compliance with company policies and procedures

• Prioritise workloads and ensure structured works programs are adhered to

• Communicate and consult with project managers and sub-contractors and other onsite workers

• Accurately interpret and read plans and specifications to determine the dimensions, materials required and installation processes

• Estimate and order required materials and equipment

• Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the relevant standards and company risk assessments/work instructions

• Undertake site inspections and report any non-conformance/discrepancies

• Implement required onsite actions in relation to WHS

Criteria:

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects in accordance with specifications and required timeframes without compromising high standards

• Previous supervisory experience, and willingness and ability to oversee and direct staff to achieve required outcomes

• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and organisation skills

• Ability to accurately interpret plans, estimate materials required and manage the ordering process

• Good knowledge of applicable WH&S and industry legislation/regulations

• Availability to work in remote and urban locations across the Northern Territory.

• Valid Australian driver's license

• Ability to provide own suitable transport and basic carpentry tools.

• Relevant certifications and qualifications in carpentry & construction.

• Proven history of reliability and punctuality.

• Experience working in a residential and commercial environment.

• Demonstrate excellent work ethics and flexibility
