Workshop and Facility Cleaner

About the role

Big Dog Builds is Australia’s leading custom American truck builder. 10 or more trucks are on our floor at any one time, most of them worth more than $250,000, and their owners walk through our workshop and admin building to collect them. How this place looks is part of what they’re buying.

That’s where you come in. You keep the workshop floors, the admin building, the amenities and the crib room clean, safe and presentable - every day, to a standard we’re proud to show a customer. It’s a genuinely valued role here, not an afterthought: a clean floor is a safe floor, and 44-plus people rely on you for it.

What you'll do

• Workshop floors - sweep, scrub and degrease the bays and walkways, keep the main runs and line-marking clear, and get on top of oil and fluid spills before they become a slip hazard.

• Admin buildings - offices, meeting rooms, reception and the customer waiting area vacuumed, dusted, wiped down and looking sharp for handovers.

• Bathrooms and amenities - cleaned, sanitised and restocked daily to a proper hygiene standard.

• Kitchens and fridges - benches, sinks, microwaves and the crib room kept tidy, with fridges emptied, wiped out and cleaned on a regular cycle.

• General waste, recycling and bin runs, plus keeping cleaning consumables stocked and flagging what needs re-ordering.

• Other reasonable duties around the site that are within your skills and capabilities  - we're a hands-on crew and we all pitch in.

What you bring

• Pride in your work - an eye for detail and the standards to match. You notice the corners.

• Reliability - you turn up when you're rostered, you're punctual, and people can count on you. That matters to us more than anything on paper.

• Comfort working in and around a live workshop - hoists, forklifts and trucks moving - and the common sense to keep yourself safe.

• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role, including being on your feet for extended periods, bending, reaching and lifting cleaning equipment and supplies.

• Unrestricted right to work in Australia and reliable transport to and from our Caboolture workshop.

• Suitable steel-cap work boots for the workshop environment.

• A driver's licence.

• Bonus points: commercial or industrial cleaning experience, safe chemical handling and SDS awareness, or a White Card. Happy to train the right person - attitude beats a resume here.

Success in your first 30 days

• The floors, amenities and admin building are consistently clean without anyone needing to ask. You’ve got your own routine running, you know the site, and the crew knows you and looks after you.

• We review pay at 90 days. If you want more hours or a broader role on site down the track, say so - we promote off the floor first, and a second shop is opening.
