Residential Support Worker - Broome

About the role 

Every day is different in our accommodation and refuge services. You’ll help create a safe, welcoming home for women and children. You’ll provide practical and emotional support, build connection and consistency, and help women and children feel safe as they begin to heal and rebuild. Working alongside a therapeutic support team and reporting to the Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in creating a calm and supportive environment. It’s challenging work, but incredibly rewarding.

About you 

You’re caring, calm and resilient, with the ability to build respectful relationships and stay grounded when things don’t go to plan. You understand that everyone’s story is different and can work sensitively with people experiencing trauma, vulnerability or complex needs. Your key experience will include:

• Experience supporting people experiencing trauma, FDV or complex needs
• An understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred practice
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent (desirable)
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current Driver’s Licence
• National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
