Quarry Floor Assistant

Cordwell's Group is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Quarry Floor Assistant to support day-to-day quarry operations at our Kin Kin site. This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, understands the importance of working safely around mobile plant, and is willing to learn in a quarry environment.

Reporting to the Quarry Supervisor / Site Senior Executive, you will assist with general labouring, site preparation, material movement, housekeeping, stockpile support, and maintaining safe and compliant work areas.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general quarry floor duties including material movement, site preparation, and housekeeping.

• Support mobile plant operators with safe loading, stockpile management, and material flow.

• Maintain clean, stable, and safe work areas including haul roads, walkways, and processing zones.

• Assist with basic plant cleaning, wash-downs, and debris removal.

• Follow site safety procedures, traffic management requirements, and designated exclusion zones.

• Participate in hazard identification, Take 5s, safety meetings, and required site training.

• You are reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.

• You have a strong commitment to safety and working as part of a team.

• You are physically capable of manual labour in outdoor quarry conditions.

• You have good communication skills and a positive attitude.

• You hold a current driver's licence.

• You are willing to complete site inductions, SOP training, and other required training.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in quarrying, mining, civil construction, or similar labouring environments.

• Desirable: Experience working safely around heavy vehicles or mobile plant.

• Desirable: HR licence, White Card, or basic mechanical/labouring experience.

• Desirable: Familiarity with site safety systems such as Take 5s, JSAs, SOPs, or SHMS procedures.
