We’re looking for a commercially minded Portfolio Forecasting Analyst to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our lending portfolio.
This is an opportunity for an analytical thinker who wants to do more than report on what has already happened. You’ll use forecasting, predictive analytics and commercial insight to understand what could happen next, and help us decide what to do about it.

What you'll be doing Working closely with our Risk, Finance, Operations and Product teams, you’ll turn complex data into practical recommendations that influence business strategy.

You’ll:

• Build driver based portfolio forecasts and help establish a new forecasting capability within OnDeck
• Analyse how changes in credit policy, pricing, marketing, channel mix, fraud controls and customer behaviour could impact portfolio performance
• Develop and enhance expected loss forecasting and provisioning methodologies in line with AASB 9 / IFRS 9
• Identify emerging portfolio risks, trends and commercial opportunities
• Develop and implement credit strategy optimisations that drive sustainable growth and profitability
• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to support strategic planning and executive decision making
• Analyse opportunities across credit strategy, pricing, fraud, collections and the customer funnel
• Assess existing credit policies and recommend improvements
• Turn complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and executives

What we're looking for You’ll be naturally curious, commercially minded and comfortable getting into the detail while still seeing the bigger picture.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Actuarial Studies, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
• 3+ years' experience in a commercially focused analytical role, such as lending, management consulting, strategy or corporate development
• Strong analytical and problem solving capability
• Strong Excel and SQL skills
• Experience with at least one analytical language or platform such as R, SAS or SPSS
• A high level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Confidence working with stakeholders across different areas of a business, including C-Suite executives
• The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Most importantly, intellectual curiosity and a genuine desire to understand what is driving the numbers
