About the role
Project Lead – All Abilities Golf Workforce Engagement Plan
Golf in Australia is growing – and so are we.
At Golf Australia, our purpose is simple: more people playing more golf.
We believe that all golf is golf, and all of us can be golfers. Whether you’re swinging a club at a driving range, playing nine holes with friends, putting at mini golf with family, or dreaming of the Australian Open. We’re here to make sure golf is fun, welcoming, and accessible for all; and that starts with how we show up as a team.
We’re proud to be part of Australian Golf’s transformation, a time of unprecedented growth, innovation, and opportunity. As our game evolves, so too does our workplace. Through it all, our values shape how we show up, collaborate, and lead:
We work alongside key industry partners like the PGA of Australia and the WPGA Tour of Australasia to support player pathways, from local clubs through to elite competition. We champion places to play, events at every level, and a high-performance program that helps emerging talent thrive.
At every step, we’re driven by the belief that golf is a sport for life and there’s a place in it for everyone
ABOUT THE ROLE – Cheltenham, VIC | Full-time | Fixed Term
The Project Lead – AAGWEP leads the design, delivery and evaluation of a new workforce inclusion initiative for people with disability across regional Victorian golf, funded through the Level the Field Program 2025–2027 (Stream 1: The Long Game). The project will deliver the All Abilities Golf Workforce Engagement Plan (AAGWEP), creating clear paid and volunteer employment and training pathways for people with disability.
Reporting to the State Manager / Head of Clubs & Facilities VIC/TAS, the role is responsible for managing the project from establishment through co-design, activation and evaluation – including recruitment and coordination of the Program Control Group (PCG) and Project Working Group (PWG), development of the detailed project plan, and delivery of research, partnerships, training and pilot activities.
The role chairs the Project Working Group and reports regularly to the Program Control Group on progress, risk, budget and outcomes. The Project Lead acts as Golf Australia’s primary liaison with people with lived experience of disability, affiliated regional golf clubs and facilities, disability employment and training partners, and regional sport assemblies across Barwon South West, Gippsland, Grampians, Hume and Loddon Mallee.
Through strong project management, co-design practice and stakeholder engagement, the Project Lead will build a workforce framework, training and mentoring resources, and pilot employment and volunteering pathways that create long-term structural change for people with disability in the golf industry across regional Victoria.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for the duration of the Level the Field Stream 1 funding (1 September 2026 – 31 December 2027). Golf Australia strongly encourages and welcomes applications from people with disability, reflecting the project’s commitment to lived-experience leadership in its design and delivery.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us
At Golf Australia, we know people do their best work when they feel supported – in work and in life. Here are just a few of the ways we bring that to life:
Still reading? We hope so. Golf, like many sports, hasn’t always felt like a space where everyone sees themselves, and we know that women and other underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. But at Golf Australia, we’re committed to changing that.
At Golf Australia, our belief is simple: “All golf is golf, and all of us can be golfers.” That philosophy extends to our team too. We’re building an organisation where diverse voices, backgrounds and perspectives are truly welcomed and where people can bring their whole selves to the work we do.
That commitment to inclusion also means creating safe, respectful and supportive spaces. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment for all employees and participants – including children and young people – and we expect everyone involved in delivering golf in Australia to understand their responsibilities when it comes to child safety.
So, if this role excites you, and you feel you could contribute even if you don’t tick every box, we’d love to hear from you. Let’s have a conversation. You might be just what we’re looking for.
