Position purpose

The purpose of this role is to assist in the distribution, maintenance and repair of party hire equipment to the event hire industry as well as support the activities of one or more of the company departments. 

 Main tasks

Core objectives include: 

• Maintain and assist in managing the company structure to comply with statutory requirements

• Assist in increasing the management teams effectiveness 

• Assist in developing strategic plans 

• Assist in maintaining quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation policies, procedures and standards

• Assist in party hire equipment distribution, maintenance and repair

• Load and unload trucks, vans and cars

• Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation

• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures

• Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries

• Read maps and follow written or verbal geographical directions

• Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments

• Verify the contents of inventory loads against dispatch documentation

• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations

• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition

• Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded

• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles

• Perform emergency repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, or spark plugs

• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones.

• Sell products from truck inventory and keep records of sales

• Use and maintain the tools or equipment found on commercial vehicles, such as weighing or measuring devices

• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Other Duties Include

• Assist in employee training

• Assist in emergency response

• Assist in occupational health and safety management

• Assist in office and building management, maintenance and repair

• Fulfills other duties as required by the General Manager of Operations, Office Administrator, Leading Hand and other department personnel as requested / required.
