Operations Manager - Disability Services

ForCare Disability Services & Blue Tongue Adventures is looking for a driven, people-first Operations Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team and help take our organisation into its next chapter.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. We want a leader who sees the bigger picture — someone who can coach and develop high-performing teams, build genuine trust with participants and their families, and bring strategic thinking to the table alongside our Director and Leadership Team.

As Operations Manager - Disability Services, you'll take the lead on the day-to-day performance of our Disability Support Function, working closely with our Support Function Services to keep our people, systems and operations running smoothly. You'll sit on the Senior Leadership Team, contributing directly to strategic decisions that shape where we go next — not just how we get there today.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Operations Manager - Disability Services to oversee service delivery operations across Brisbane, Toowoomba and the greater region. In this role, you will provide guidance, support and leadership to Service Coordinators across the region.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for leading our local coordination team, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience for participants and families following intake.

You’ll be someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, leads with positivity and accountability, and genuinely enjoys building strong teams and relationships.

•     Provide strong leadership, direction and day-to-day management across ForCare Disability Services & Blue Tongue Adventures.

•     Coach and mentor team members, building a high-performing, supported and engaged team.

•     Lead rostering and resource planning to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.

•     Bring strategic recommendations to the Director and Leadership Team, and actively shape business direction as a Senior Leadership Team member.

•     Own third-party and stakeholder relationships — participants, guardians, families and external partners — with warmth and professionalism.

•     Champion best practice, ensuring documentation, policies and procedures meet legal and NDIS quality obligations.

•     Manage complaints and service issues through to resolution, protecting an exceptional customer experience at every step.

•     Identify and manage operational risk in collaboration with the wider ForCare team.

What you will bring:

•     High-level knowledge of the NDIS, including Practice Standards and Quality & Safeguarding requirements.

•     A sound understanding of Care Plans and Behaviour Support Plans, and how to bring them to life through great support.

•     Proven leadership experience with a genuine talent for coaching and mentoring people to be their best.

•     Strong networking and relationship-building skills, and a natural, exceptional approach to customer care.

•     Confident rostering, resource planning and operational management experience.

•     The strategic mindset and credibility to operate as a trusted member of a Senior Leadership Team.

•     Relevant tertiary qualification in disability, community services or business management (or equivalent experience).

•     Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check / Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

• Nursing or clinical background

• Understanding of regional Queensland service delivery environments
