We have two offices located in Brisbane and Eight-Mile Plains and offer flexible working arrangements.We practice in the areas of Family Law, Domestic Violence and Child Protection and will be expanding into other areas in the near future.We offer a compassionate and holistic approach to law and value people and growth.The opportunityWe are looking for a compassionate and motivated Lawyer to join our growing team.This role is full-time, however, we will consider part-time options. Experience in Family Law is preferred and experience in other areas of law is highly desirable but not essential. You much hold a practicing certificate or be eligible to obtain one.We offer attractive salary incentives which can be negotiated based on experience and skills.
Key responsibilitiesYour responsibilities will include:Assisting with parenting, property settlement, divorce, domestic violence and child protection matters.Listening carefully to clients and helping them feel heard, respected and supportedCommunicating sensitive legal information clearly and compassionately.Conducting legal research and preparing written adviceDrafting correspondence, affidavits, court documents, consent orders and other legal documentsAssisting with disclosure, evidence preparation and court filingCommunicating professionally with clients, opposing solicitors, barristers, experts and court staffAttending client conferences, mediations, mentions and court hearingsManaging deadlines and maintaining accurate electronic filesSupporting the Principal Solicitor with complex and sensitive mattersManaging your own matters under appropriate supervision as your experience developsMaintaining professional boundaries while responding sensitively to clients in distressComplying with all professional, ethical and confidentiality obligations
About youWe are looking for someone who genuinely cares about people and outcomes and wants to grow with us.You should have:Admission, or eligibility for admission, as a solicitor in QueenslandApproximately one to three years of post-admission experience, preferably in family law.A compassionate, patient and non-judgmental approach.The emotional maturity to assist clients experiencing distress, uncertainty or conflict.Strong legal research, drafting and communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability.The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.Professionalism honesty and respect toward all client, co-workers and stakeholders.Experience in family law will be highly regarded. However, applications may also be considered from junior lawyers with relevant transferable experience, strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to compassionate family law practice.
