What we are looking for:
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Fleet Coordinator to join our Infrastructure Services team and play a key role in ensuring Council's fleet, plant, and equipment are safe, reliable, compliant, and ready to support essential community services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with experience in fleet operations, asset management, maintenance coordination, procurement, and compliance monitoring. Working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, you will help drive efficient fleet performance, manage maintenance schedules, oversee fuel and telematics systems, support fleet renewal programs, and contribute to strategic asset planning. Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract (2 Years).
Skills Shortage Allowance of up to $5,000 per annum may be available for the right applicant, subject to skills, qualifications, and experience.

This position may require work across multiple Council locations, including the Civic Centre, Works Depot, and Regional Waste Management Facility (RWMF). Occasional out-of-hours work may be required during peak operational periods or urgent situations. The successful applicant may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment and drug and alcohol screening.
What you will bring:
You will bring demonstrated experience coordinating diverse fleet operations, including light vehicles, yellow plant, and specialised equipment within a local government, civil construction, or similarly complex operational environment. With a strong understanding of fleet lifecycle management, you will be confident in overseeing procurement, maintenance scheduling, compliance, condition assessments, and asset replacement programs. Your ability to maintain accurate fleet records, analyse performance data, manage contractors and workshop activities, administer fuel contracts and card programs, and prepare meaningful reports will support informed decision-making and operational efficiency. Coupled with your sound knowledge of relevant legislation, safety requirements, and best practice fleet management principles, you will have excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
