What does it take to turn a waste gasification component layout into a 3D part tree and drawing set that a fabricator can send to the floor without a human redraw?
This is a CAD AI engineering internship for Zero-X, an engineering company turning waste into clean power and high-quality gas. Zero-X is funded by Projekträger Jülich (PTJ), the German federal research agency, and runs a PhD track across universities including TU Munich, the Fraunhofer Institute, and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). We recently completed project Cometha ("Waste to Methane") for the City of Paris.
You leave with the one proof employers hire on: a thing you built that nobody asked you to build. Everyone has a degree. Almost nobody has proof.
What you build
We are manufacturing the first container-based waste gasification unit. The base is done; tar reforming, gas conversion, and gas upgrades to methane or hydrogen are still open. You build the generative CAD pipeline. You work on the component layout turned into a 3D part tree. A clean drawing file is the output — one a fabricator can quote and cut from without you standing next to it. The world doesn't care about perfect answers. It cares about fast iteration.
The bar
A CAD model or simulation built outside coursework, with the failure point under review named. A drawing set another person can send to a manufacturer without you in the room. A generative design task kept on the table until the output survived review.

Engineers, physicists, and data analysts who understand AI is here now, and that most university graduates have barely scratched the surface of what is possible today — and tomorrow. You work until the drawing set survives someone else's review. You decide what gets built next.
Where you do it — and why here
Thirty years building companies — New York, London, Tokyo, the Valley — and then it stopped mattering where the work happened. So the group runs this from Canggu. A modern company costs twelve people and a toolchain, so being wrong six times a year is part of how we build. The campus is 4,000 sqm, and the people who run the companies are on it every day. Epic Solutions PT runs the on-site program in Canggu, Bali. One cohort, on-site, the full phase — not remote. Monday reset, Friday ship — send what you built. Everything you built last week is worthless. The reset is freedom. You're not bound to what you built. What this location buys is attention, not a view.
What happens after
From here the path runs to an engineering seat at Energaia Institute in Melbourne, beside our Monash development partner. Earned, not guaranteed; the role, visa, and pay are agreed before you commit, never after. There are not levels. There are different games.
Terms
Unpaid under Indonesian law. A room is available on campus — rent paid by you. Epic Solutions PT hosts the on-site program and assists with the C22B internship visa process; the visa fee is yours. Daily lunch on us. Starting September.
Requirements
A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent — you have proven you can finish something. Not the ability to know things. The ability to learn things quickly. Something you built that nobody asked for. AI is the stack, not hand-written code — Claude Code, Hermes, Codex; the skill is driving them and catching what they get wrong.
