Commissioning Technician - Switchboard, VIC

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to carry out all aspects of the startup, commissioning, testing and maintenance of large-scale industrial LV switchboards.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery of project site works on LV switchgear panels (3200-6200A 415Vac) - Commissioning, testing and handover to customers over multiple industrial projects with main focus on DATACENTERSInvestigation of site issues/breakdowns with view to carrying out repairs as necessary.Completion of preventative maintenance tasks for all aspects of LV switchgear panels. (ACBs-MCCBs)Preparation of all tools, test equipment and site documentation for project/maintenance activities.Communication and interface with clients, sub-contractors and various internal Vertiv departments to ensure timely progress and meet project/contract milestones.Liaise with department internal procurement for any additional material requirements/manufacturing needs to close out defect lists. Management of site related paperwork, ensuring documentation is signed off by all relevant parties and uploaded to client portals in a timely manner.Responsibility for safe working practices on-site and ensuring all relevant WHS procedures are adhered to.Some remote travel may be required.

Education/Qualification

Unrestricted electrical licence is mandatoryWhite cardDrivers licence

Specialist Knowledge

Working knowledge of Electrical Drawings/Control SystemsExperience in TroubleshootingElectrical Engineering BackgroundExperience in the use of product specific Software

Practical Experience

Familiar with all aspects of electrical panel testing & fault findingCompetency in primary & secondary injection testingCompetency in flash testingGood working knowledge of LV Switchgear and Protection devicesGood understanding of safe isolation and electrical safetyFamiliar with maintaining accurate and detailed completion of test documentationExperience with Client Factory Acceptance Tests / Site Acceptance TestsFully flexible to work additional hours on requestThis is a site-based role and majority of work time will be based on-site or travelling

Personal Characteristics

Good communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft office suite
