Operations Support Officer

Help Keep Regional Western Australia Moving

The Public Transport Authority is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Operations Support Officer to join Transwa's Operations Team. In this diverse and rewarding role, you will provide essential operational, administrative, and customer service support that helps keep our regional rail services running safely, efficiently, and reliably. Working closely with frontline employees and key stakeholders, you'll play an important part in delivering the high-quality travel experience our customers expect across the Transwa network.

A Typical Day in This Role

No two days are the same at Transwa. In this varied and hands-on role, you will provide critical support to our regional rail operations while ensuring frontline teams have the resources they need to deliver exceptional customer service.

On a typical day, you may be:

• Processing, reconciling, and banking monies from onboard buffet and ticket sales.
• Maintaining accurate financial, operational, and administrative records.
• Ordering food, beverages, and operational supplies to ensure onboard buffets remain fully stocked.
• Monitoring stock levels and undertaking stock rotation to maintain product quality and minimise waste.
• Entering stock and operational records into Transwa's primary business systems and databases.
• Assisting with customer enquiries, feedback, and lost property processes.
• Preparing reports and maintaining documentation to support operational performance and compliance.
• Liaising with suppliers, On-Train Staff, Station Attendants, and operational leaders to ensure services are delivered efficiently across the Transwa network.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administration, customer service, financial accountability, stock management, and operational support within a dynamic transport environment.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Demonstrated experience delivering exceptional customer service and achieving customer-focused outcomes.
• Experience working within transport, logistics, operational, public service, or service delivery environments.
• Knowledge of roster management, workforce coordination, payroll administration, or financial reconciliation processes.
• Experience in stock control, inventory management, and purchasing activities.
• The ability to coordinate and support staff in a busy operational environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Sound computer skills and experience using business systems and databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail.

There is one permanent full-time opportunity available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
