Accounts and Payroll Officer

About the role

Working 4 days a week, you'll be a key part of our small admin team, managing the day-to-day accounts and payroll functions using MYOB. You'll be the person responsible for keeping our purchase and sales ledgers, payroll, and banking running smoothly across multiple active jobs.

Key responsibilities

• Payroll processing — collecting and importing/entering into MYOB, and resolving payroll errors

• Accounts payable — entering supplier and sub-contractor invoices, matching to purchase orders and job numbers, and processing payments and remittances

• Accounts receivable — preparing and issuing client sales invoices and claims, processing payments received, and following up overdue accounts

• Job records — creating and maintaining job records in the job register to track invoicing and progress across projects

• Bank & credit card reconciliation — managing bank feeds, reconciling fuel card and credit card statements against job numbers

• Credit management — processing supplier credit notes and adjustments

• Employee onboarding support — assisting with new starter paperwork and MYOB employee set-up

• Calculate and process termination payments for employees

• Prepare management reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow) from MYOB to support project budgeting

• Maintain current award updates and payroll adjustments

About you

• Proven experience in an accounts and payroll role, ideally within construction, contracting or a similar project-based industry

• Advanced working knowledge of MYOB (desktop and online) is essential

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with data entry

• Well organised, with the ability to manage competing deadlines (weekly payroll, invoicing, month-end)

• A proactive, can-do attitude and happy to work as part of a small, close-knit team
