Operational Technology Specialist | 8/6 FIFO

Drive operational performance across one of Western Australia's largest iron ore operations. Joining a high performing technology team, you will keep mission critical systems available, reliable, and safe.

The Role Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will ensure high availability for critical Operational Technology (OT) across autonomous and digital mining systems. You will bridge the gap between field maintenance and Perth based technology engineering teams.

• Execute logical maintenance and troubleshooting across critical OT infrastructure.

• Drive Incident, Problem, and Change Management (ITIL) processes directly on site.

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for site technology incidents.

• Work directly with mobile equipment and infrastructure crews to support physical device configurations and programming.

• Maintain active Field Leadership with a strict focus on Zero Harm and Critical Control Verification.

The Tech Stack & Environment

• Fleet Management Systems: MineStar Terrain/Fleet, Modular Provision/Fleet/FrontRunner, SurfaceManager

• Wireless Infrastructure: Rajant Breadcrumbs, Private LTE, Extreme Networks, Cisco R&S / Industrial Wireless

• Digital Radio & Communications: DMR, P25, TETRA, telemetry systems

• Cabling & Hardware: Industrial Fibre Optics (F.O.C), field level technology installations

What You'll Bring

• Trade or Tertiary qualification in IT, Communications, Electronics, or Industrial Electrical.

• Proven hands on experience maintaining IT/OT infrastructure within heavy industrial or mining operations.

• Solid understanding of Fleet Management Systems (CAT MineStar or Modular) and industrial wireless technologies.

• Prior exposure to ITIL frameworks including incident, problem, and change management workflows.

• Strong commitment to workplace safety and field risk assessments.

• ACMA Open Cabling (F.O.C endorsement), High Risk Work Licence (WP/FL), or Cisco CCNA certifications are highly regarded.
