We work closely with our portfolio partners, Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure and Public Transport Authority as well as local governments to support the needs of all road users across the state by providing an integrated world-class road transport network. As we continue to grow and improve, we are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Asset Engineer.
About the opportunity:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Asset Engineer to join the Electrical Asset Management team. This role is responsible for managing the Electrical Asset Management Investment Plan, developing Annual Works Programs, and identifying asset renewal and remediation priorities for Main Roads' electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets.
You will provide specialist technical advice on asset planning, performance and lifecycle management, oversee the quality of asset data within SPARKS, and contribute to maintenance and renewal strategies that maximise whole-of-life value. The role also supports business case development, investment prioritisation and asset performance improvement initiatives.
You will also be working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and delivery teams, you will support asset handover, asset acceptance processes, asset information management and the evaluation of emerging technologies to improve network performance and reliability.
To be successful in this role you will have substantial experience in electrical asset management, including asset investment planning, renewal and replacement programs, lifecycle management and maintenance strategy development. You will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to translate asset performance information into practical investment and maintenance recommendations.
You will also demonstrate knowledge of ITS and electrical infrastructure, together with the ability to provide sound technical advice across a broad range of asset management matters.
Bring your strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills, along with a sound engineering judgement and a commitment to continuous improvement in the management of electrical and ITS assets.
