About ABC International Development
The ABC supports public interest journalism in the Asia Pacific region through its ABC International Development unit. ABC International Development (ABCID) works with media organisations and communities across the Indo-Pacific to support strong, independent and resilient media. Through partnerships, training, grants and development programs, we help strengthen media capability and access to trusted information across the region.
About The Role
We have 3 Project Coordinator opportunities available, 2 in Adelaide and one Melbourne, supporting the delivery of ABC International Development (ABCID) programs across the Indo-Pacific.
As Project Coordinator, you’ll work with ABCID teams and regional partners to help turn programs into action. Depending on your project focus, you would be providing administrative support, coordinating media development initiatives, or helping administer grants.
You’ll support a particular program or portfolio working in a small team, with the possibility to work across other ABCID initiatives as priorities and program needs evolve.
Key Responsibilities
Support financial and grant administration, including invoices, payments, grant documentation and contract compliance.Coordinate meetings, travel, events and in-country logistics involving staff, consultants, participants and regional partners.Support project activities, schedules, workplans and deliverables, keeping key milestones and contractual requirements on track.Build effective working relationships with project teams, grant recipients, partners and stakeholders across the region.Coordinate and contribute to project reports and program documentation.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to work across cultures, programs and countries while building your experience in international development and media.
About You
You’re a capable and motivated project coordinator who loves administration and enjoys keeping multiple moving parts on track. You’re organised, adaptable and proactive, with strong attention to detail, accuracy and the confidence to build relationships with people from different cultures and professional backgrounds.
You’ll Bring
Demonstrated administration and project coordination experience, ideally within international development, media, or grants programs.Experience working with budgets, expenditure and financial administration.Experience coordinating meetings, events, travel and/or logistics involving multiple stakeholders.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-cultural teams, partners and external stakeholders.Strong writing skills, with experience contributing to reports, correspondence, contracts and project documentation.A proactive approach, with the ability to take ownership, manage competing priorities and follow through.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Experience in supporting Australian Aid/international development programs will be highly regarded, as will an interest in journalism, public interest media and media development across the Indo-Pacific.
