Dr Abbie Clinics is launching an exciting new footwear, insole and foot-comfort pop-up store at Westfield Miranda, and we're looking for three exceptional retail people to join us from the beginning.

The Miranda store will be the first location of this new retail concept. If successful, the model is intended to be expanded into other Westfield locations.

This is therefore much more than a standard retail assistant position.

We are looking for people with strong retail and customer service experience who can be trained to become confident Retail Sales & Product Fitting Consultants.

You will learn how to understand a customer's footwear and foot-comfort concerns, recommend and correctly fit appropriate products into their shoes, provide an excellent retail experience and recognise when a customer should be referred to Dr Abbie Clinics for professional assessment.

We are looking for an experienced senior retailer to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the Miranda pop-up.

The Team Leader will work directly with customers while also overseeing the store and casual retail team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Opening and closing the store

• Coordinating the casual retail team

• Providing exceptional customer service

• Understanding customers' footwear and foot-comfort needs

• Recommending and fitting appropriate insoles and footwear-related products

• Driving sales and helping the store achieve its targets

• Coaching the team in customer service, sales and product knowledge

• Processing sales and managing POS procedures

• Cash and payment reconciliation

• Stock control and monitoring product levels

• Maintaining excellent store presentation standards

• Managing customer enquiries and more difficult customer situations

• Ensuring procedures and fitting protocols are followed

• Identifying when customers should be referred to Dr Abbie Clinics

• Monitoring sales performance and key retail measures

• Providing simple daily reporting on store performance, sales, referrals and customer feedback

Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Store Manager position would be highly regarded.

Our Retail Sales & Product Fitting Consultants will be responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience while helping customers select and fit appropriate products.

Responsibilities will include:

• Proactively approaching and engaging customers

• Asking appropriate questions to understand their needs

• Learning about common foot and footwear-related concerns

• Recommending suitable insoles and other products

• Correctly fitting products into customers' shoes

• Demonstrating and explaining products clearly

• Providing friendly and professional customer service

• Processing sales and collecting payments

• Using POS systems

• Upselling and cross-selling appropriate complementary products

• Maintaining a clean, organised and professional retail environment

• Assisting with stock and merchandising

• Recognising when a customer's needs are outside the retail setting and referring them to Dr Abbie Clinics for professional assessment

You do not need to be a foot-health professional.

Successful applicants will receive structured training from Dr Abbie Clinics covering:

• Common foot and footwear-related concerns

• Understanding the difference between retail advice and clinical assessment

• Our range of insoles and footwear-related products

• Product selection

• Correct fitting of products into customers' shoes

• How to ask appropriate questions to understand customer needs

• Product demonstrations

• Customer service and sales techniques

• Upselling and cross-selling

• POS systems and payment collection

• Store procedures

• When and how to refer customers to Dr Abbie Clinics

Importantly, retail staff will not be expected to diagnose medical or foot conditions.

You will instead be trained to work within clear guidelines, provide appropriate product information and recognise when a customer should be referred to one of our clinics for professional assessment.

• Are confident approaching and talking with customers

• Have excellent communication and people skills

• Enjoy selling and achieving targets

• Can identify opportunities to upsell without using high-pressure sales techniques

• Are genuinely interested in finding the right solution for the customer

• Are comfortable learning detailed product information

• Are willing to learn about foot health, footwear and insoles

• Can explain and demonstrate products confidently

• Are reliable, organised and professionally presented

• Are comfortable handling payments and using POS systems

• Can work independently and as part of a small team

• Are excited by the opportunity to help establish a completely new retail concept

Experience in footwear, pharmacy, allied health, sports retail, health and wellness, orthotics, medical products or specialist retail would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Westfield Miranda pop-up will operate 7 days per week:

Monday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Tuesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Thursday: 9:00am – 9:00pm
Friday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Saturday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
Sunday: 9:00am – 5:30pm

Applicants should have good availability across the week.

Weekend and Thursday evening availability will be highly regarded.

This is the first store of its kind for Dr Abbie Clinics.

Westfield Miranda will be our pilot location, allowing us to develop and refine our retail model before considering expansion into additional Westfield locations.

We will be closely monitoring customer response, sales performance, product demand and clinic referrals to determine the future rollout of the concept.

For the right people, particularly our Retail Team Leader, there may therefore be opportunities to take on greater responsibility as the retail operation grows.
