About the role
Post Graduate Student Midwife
Part Time (0.8 FTE), Fixed Term February 2028
The Team:
The Mildura Base Public Hospital’s (MBPH) Maternity Unit is a progressive unit with a 12 bed Antenatal/Postnatal ward, 4 bed birth-suite (Level 4), Maternity Assessment Unit and a 6 cot Special Care Nursery (Level 3). The service covers the North West region of Victoria and part of NSW. Delivering around 900 births per year, we are supported by the O&G doctors, a MUM, ANUMs, Midwifery Educator, Clinical Support Midwives and a dynamic midwifery team who work within the hospital’s HEART values.
The Role:
Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) are seeking Registered Nurses with an interest in pursuing Midwifery to apply.
MBPH works in collaboration with Latrobe University to offer the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery through their Bendigo Campus. The course will commence in January 2027 and runs until end of February 2028.
The course is a paid employment model at 0.8 FTE and successful applicant will be offered a 12-month contract with the Mildura Base Public Hospital, with the potential for a graduate midwifery position
This a part time (0.8 FTE), fixed term role commencing January 2027 until February 2028
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential Criteria:
Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
Desirable Criteria:
12 months post graduate experience in acute setting
Well-developed assessment skills
Strong communication skills
In depth ability to apply problem-solving
Demonstrated teamwork skills
