About the role

Flinders Street Dermatology is seeking a Dermatology Enrolled Nurse (EEN) to join our specialist dermatology team on a part-time basis. Based in Wollongong NSW 2500, this role offers the opportunity to develop specialised nursing skills within a focused dermatological environment. As a Dermatology EEN, you will play a vital role in supporting our dermatologists and providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This position is instrumental in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting dermatologists during consultations, skin examinations, and dermatological procedures

• Preparing patients for procedures including drawing up and administering local anesthetic

• Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising equipment, and maintaining infection control protocols specific to dermatology settings

• Taking patient histories and documenting clinical information accurately in patient records

• Educating patients on skin care, treatment procedures, and post-procedure wound management

• Applying topical treatments and dressings as directed by the dermatologist

• Managing patient flow and clinic scheduling to optimise clinic efficiency

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked treatment environment

• Communicating effectively with patients and medical staff to ensure continuity of care

• Adhering to workplace health and safety standards and dermatology-specific protocols

What we're looking for

• Current Australian registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

• Dermatology nursing experience not essential

• Strong infection control knowledge and demonstrated commitment to maintaining aseptic technique

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team

• Ability to provide compassionate patient care whilst maintaining professionalism in a busy clinic setting

• Attention to detail with accurate medical record-keeping and documentation skills

• Physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including standing for extended periods

• Willingness to support a dermatology-focused practice and develop specialised dermatological nursing knowledge
