Dermatology Nurse

About the role

Shades Dermatology is seeking a dedicated Dermatology Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis or Full time basis at our Graceville, QLD location. In this role, you will provide specialised nursing care to dermatology patients, supporting both diagnostic procedures, surgical procedures and aesthetic treatments. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality patient care whilst maintaining the clinical standards and professional environment that Shades Dermatology is known for. Must Have:

• Working rights in Australia.

• Previous Experience in Medical Dermatology or Plastic Surgery or Cosmetic Dermatology or similar settings.

• Open Laser Licence (Or working toward obtaining an Open Licence).

• Excellent patient-centred approach.

• High level of attention to details.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist dermatologists with patient consultations, skin assessments, and diagnostic procedures.

• Prepare patients for dermatological treatments and procedures, ensuring informed consent and comfort.

• Support the administration of dermatological treatments, including laser therapy, chemical peels, injectable procedures, and other aesthetic interventions.

• Monitor patient vital signs and responses during and after procedures, documenting observations accurately.

• Provide clear pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions to patients to optimise outcomes and patient safety.

• Maintain a clean, sterile and organised clinical environment in accordance with infection control protocols.

• Manage clinical supplies, equipment and sterilisation procedures.

• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure their comfort, address concerns, and provide emotional support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with privacy legislation.

• Contribute to a positive team environment and support the smooth operation of the clinic.

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN).

• Demonstrated experience in medical or surgical nursing, with prior experience in dermatology, plastic surgery or cosmetic dermatology being highly advantageous.

• Knowledge of dermatological conditions, treatments, and procedures.

• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to monitor patient responses during procedures.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.

• Proficiency in maintaining infection control standards and clinical safety protocols.

• Competence in maintaining detailed and accurate patient records.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Current First Aid and CPR certification.

• Reliable, punctual and professional conduct.
