The Graduate Paramedic Selection Process will consist of five stages:
Ambulance Tasmania (AT) promotes and provides integrated high quality, emergency ambulance care, rescue, and patient transport to the Tasmanian community. The role of AT is to provide pre-hospital patient care, specialised patient transport, medical transfers, and public education. AT achieves this using salaried and volunteer staff as well as through the support of independent ambulance services.
Ambulance staff are frontline health care professionals. They are active members of the health care team, contributing to the preservation and restoration of health for the people of Tasmania. Paramedics provide efficient and effective medical care, which is timely, appropriate to the needs of the patient, of a high quality and equitably available.
The RoleDemonstrated capacity to apply under supervision knowledge and skills in the prehospital environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, members of the community, peers and superiors in stressful environments.
Ability to apply analytical skills and make effective decisions, taking into account patients clinical and social needs in a time critical environment.

Details of appointmentFixed term full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately 12 months.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Locations:$96,874 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

EligibilitySuccessful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science or other qualification approved by the Service
Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia
Physical fitness, medical suitability and psychological characteristics appropriate to the duties of a Paramedic
Current Driver’s Licence
