A leading player in the infrastructure and renewable energy space is looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team, working across contracts, project delivery, and risk management for some of Australia's key energy transition projects.
This is a genuine opportunity to build your career at the intersection of construction law and the clean energy build-out, working on EPC and D&C contracting for wind, battery storage, and transmission infrastructure.
What you'll be doing:Draft, review, and negotiate customer, supplier, and subcontractor agreements across infrastructure and renewable energy projectsProvide strategic legal advice on project delivery issues, contract interpretation, risk allocation, and dispute avoidanceAdvise on claims, variations, extensions of time, and other project-related contractual mattersPartner with commercial, engineering, and procurement teams to keep projects aligned with contractual and regulatory obligationsHelp shape and improve contract templates and contracting proceduresIdentify and manage legal risk in line with corporate governance frameworksManage external legal counsel efficiently where neededTrack legislative and regulatory developments across safety, environment, and energy market complianceProvide training and guidance to project and commercial teams on key legal principles
What you'll bring:3- PQE ideally in construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy (in-house or private practice)Strong grounding in construction and contract law, particularly EPC and D&C modelsExposure to renewables or energy transition projects such as wind, BESS, or transmissionA track record of drafting and negotiating complex contracts with clear, commercial adviceStrong stakeholder engagement skills and comfort working within multidisciplinary project teams
