UEE20220 Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start)
The Trainer & Assessor is responsible for delivering high‑quality, compliant training and assessment for learners enrolled in UEE30820 and UEE20220/25. The role ensures all delivery meets the Standards for RTOs 2025, industry expectations, licensing requirements, and CTA internal quality assurance processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver structured, engaging training sessions aligned to CTA TAS documents, session plans, and assessment strategies.
Facilitate practical skills development in workshop environments, ensuring safe, supervised, and industry‑relevant learning experiences.
Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and guidance across electrotechnology competencies including electrical fundamentals, AC/DC circuits, testing, installation practices, WHS, and fault‑finding.
Maintain accurate attendance records, training plans, and learner progress documentation.
Use CTA assessment tools and benchmarks for all UEE20220/25 Certificate II units.
Use Energy Space digital assessments, marking guides, and practical evidence requirements for all UEE30820 Certificate III units.
Conduct assessment in accordance with CTA Assessment Tools, Benchmarks, and Mapping Documents.
Apply principles of assessment and rules of evidence consistently.
Mark and provide feedback on knowledge and practical assessments within required timeframes.
Participate in validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities.
Ensure assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and compliant.
Maintain currency with industry practices, licensing requirements, and UEE Training Package updates.
Complete all administrative tasks including assessment records, incident reports, equipment logs, and AVETMISS‑related documentation.
Follow CTA policies for RPL, LLN support, reasonable adjustment, and assessment appeals.
Ensure training and assessment resources are used correctly and report any required updates.
Implement and model safe work practices in accordance with WHS legislation and electrical safety regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, pre‑start checks, and ensure learners use PPE correctly.
Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and training materials in safe working order.
Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance requirements promptly.
Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to learners with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Identify LLN needs and refer learners for additional support where required.
Manage classroom behaviour professionally and maintain a positive learning environment.
UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (or equivalent).
Current Victorian Electrical Licence (A‑Grade) (highly regarded).
TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or successor qualification, or equivalent skill set meeting regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated industry experience within electrotechnology, installation, testing, or maintenance.
Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Current industry currency evidence (CPD, PD, employment, manufacturer training, etc.).
Strong understanding of the UEE Training Package, assessment requirements, and RTO compliance obligations.
Experience delivering Certificate II and Certificate III electrotechnology programs.
Experience working with secondary school VETDSS learners.
Ability to create and maintain structured, compliant training documentation.
Strong communication skills and ability to manage diverse learner cohorts.
Familiarity with CTA resource formats, colour schemes, and assessment structures.
Training delivered according to TAS, session plans, and timetables.
Assessment completed accurately and within required timeframes.
Compliance with Standards for RTOs 2025 and WorkSafe Victoria requirements.
High learner satisfaction and retention.
Active participation in validation, moderation, and continuous improvement.
Zero safety breaches and consistent WHS compliance.
