Company Accountant – Transport & Logistics
Tottenham, VIC 3012 | Full-time (38 hours per week), On-site

Cargo Freight Services Melbourne Pty Ltd trading as Cargo Freight Services Melbourne is a growing business based in Melbourne’s western suburbs, specialising in wharf cartage, container handling, road freight, and warehousing and distribution. We’re looking for an experienced accountant to join our finance team in a hands-on, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
• Prepare financial statements for management, directors, and statutory bodies
• Conduct financial investigations, audits, and reporting on matters such as capital financing, insolvency, and taxation
• Examine operating costs, income, and expenditure
• Ensure financial reports are accurate and compliant with statutory requirements
• Provide financial and taxation advice on business structures and operations
• Prepare taxation returns for the business and related entities
• Liaise with financial institutions and brokers on funds management
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and internal controls
• Appraise cash flow and financial risk on capital investment projects

Skill & Experience

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
• preferred experience in transport, logistics, or warehousing.
• Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software, experience with Payroll
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modelling)
• Available to work on-site in Tottenham, full-time
