The Opportunity

Cleveland Heights Retirement Living is an elevated bayside community designed for comfortable, connected living. Surrounded by coastal beauty and close to shopping, healthcare and transport, it offers ease and peace of mind. As a Maintenance Gardener, you will be play an important role within the community, ensuring gardens, grounds and outdoor areas are safe, well maintained and visually appealing. You’ll take care of day‑to‑day gardening and grounds maintenance tasks while engaging positively with residents. This role is ideal for someone with strong gardening experience who is friendly, proactive, and enjoys a varied, hands‑on role.

This is a permanent full-time position working Monday - Friday (7am-3pm)

Your Impact

Strong practical experience in gardening and grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, hedging, mulching and green waste managementThe ability to maintain safe, welcoming community spaces through consistent care and upkeepAn understanding of irrigation systems and external sprinklers, including routine checks and basic upkeepThe ability to work autonomously, managing scheduled tasks while responding to day‑to‑day gardening needsConfidence building strong relationships with residents and engaging positively as part of daily workFlexibility to manage planned maintenance and ad hoc tasks as required

What You'll Bring

Gardening or grounds experience, with a strong sense of pride and ownership in your workA proactive, solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take actionClear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident‑friendly wayA positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your workA valid driver’s licence (essential)Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
