Yard & Fleet Assistant

KMH, a subsidiary of SSH Group, is looking for a reliable and hands-on Yard & Fleet Assistant to join our Belmont based team!

At KMH we specialise in delivering equipment and workforce solutions to our clients and their projects, ensuring our services are delivered efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with light vehicles, warehouse and yard operations, and supporting the preparation of vehicles and equipment for construction, civil and mining projects. Under the direction of our Asset Manager, you’ll take pride in keeping vehicles clean, maintained and work-ready, while ensuring the warehouse and yard remain organised, safe and efficient.

What You'll Be Doing

Wash, clean and detail light vehicles to site and company standardsPrepare vehicles for mobilisation, on-hire and off-hireComplete vehicle inspections and report defects, damage or maintenance needsPerform basic vehicle maintenance, fluid checks and minor repairsRefuel vehicles and complete routine fleet checksMaintain a clean, organised and safe yard, warehouse and washdown areaAssist with stock control, parts, tools and consumablesDeliver and collect vehicles, parts and equipment as requiredMaintain accurate fleet, maintenance and inspection records

What You'll Bring

Current Australian Driver’s LicenceForklift / High Risk Work Licence - highly desirableHR, HC or MC Driver’s Licence - desirablePrevious experience in a yard, warehouse, workshop or light vehicle/fleet environmentBasic mechanical knowledge and confidence using hand and power toolsAbility to perform vehicle checks, minor maintenance and general fleet preparationStrong safety awareness and ability to undertake physical, hands-on workReliable, organised and proactive approach to work
