Trainee Tyre Service Person

Kal Tire Australia have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Tyre Service Person to join our team in Mount Isa.

The Tyre Service Person Trainee is responsible for safely and efficiently learning a range of tyre maintenance and management tasks at their allocated site, while consistently adhering to Kal Tire’s work and safety standards. This is a FIFO position operating on an 8/6 roster with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, with flights provided from Brisbane or Townsville.

 

Specifically, this role will involve:

· Enrol in and complete AUR21920 (or equivalent) through Kal Tire’s RTO

· Assist with tyre bay operations including inspections, maintenance and service work

· Perform pre-start checks and maintain tools and equipment

· Support tyre inspections, pressure maintenance and site programs

· Assist with earthmover tyre removal, fitment, rotation and matching

· Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records

· Identify and report tyre, rim and site-related risks

· Maintain a clean, safe and organised tyre bay

· Work collaboratively with the team and support continuous improvement

· Participate in training, competency reviews and safety meetings

· Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents

 

This role is offered on a FIFO basis - 8/6 roster, 12 hour shifts rotating day/night (flights from Brisbane or Townsville).

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

· Experience working in environments where safety procedures are a key part of daily operations

· A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental practices

· Ability to physically perform the duties of an OTR Tyre Technician safely

· Willingness to learn, take initiative and complete required training

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Basic literacy and numeracy skills

· A current driver’s licence and ability to meet site requirements

· Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test
